Rail engineer meets police over 3 deaths | Bangkok Post: news

(Bangkok Post file photo)An engineer from the Red Line construction company has turned himself in to face charges in connection with a fatal accident last week, said the city police chief. Pol Col Surachet Bundit, superintendent of Don Muang station, said the engineer asked to be released on bail. He said the rail agency is waiting for the results of the investigation before it rolls out new safety measures and penalties for lax safety measures. Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith said yesterday the Japan International Cooperation Agency has expressed concern and asked for stricter enforcement of safety measures.
